As we get closer to the event of the season here in El Paso for the Warhammer 40K community, we’d like to remind everyone about a few things. First, we’re still open with registration and you can register below in the article for your convenience. Once you’ve done that, make sure you register for the Sidewinder GT in Best Coast Pairings. If you need help, you can call the store at (915) 219-8660 and we will be happy to help you get set up. We don’t have any painting requirements for this event, so take advantage of that because we may not be offering it again and want some of our newer players to have a chance to get in on the fun.If you’re concerned about food, one of our culinary inclined members, Zeus will be providing some amazing BBQ.

Hi everyone! I’ll be catering the Side Winder G.T 2018 event for lunch on Saturday!! I get down with food, it’s going to be awesome!! $10.00 a full plate, Cash or Paypal only.

The Menu:
Texas style smoked brisket
Marinaded BBQ’d Chicken thighs
Cheddar & bacon twice baked potatoes
Zeus’s BBQ baked beans w/ bacon, Sausage, and Brisket.

He’s not lying either, in fact we may have some extra bystanders for the tournament just to get in on the lunch.

Join Our Fundraising Team for Extra Life 2017

Want to know how YOU can be a hero?  We’re making it easy for you to join us in our quest to raise money for Children’s Hospitals all across the United States and here locally for El Paso.

All you have to do is register for our team by visiting the Extra Life website through our Team’s Page.  We’ve already got a few people signed up, but we know there’s more of you out there ready to make a difference by raising money and gaming for 24 hours.  You don’t have to join us for the full 24 hours and how much you raise depends on how much you want to spread the word for an amazing cause.

Our event will start on 4 November 2017 at 9 AM locally and end the next day on the 5th of November at 9 AM.  You’re welcome to show up whenever and participate in the games we’ll have going on in the store.  Check out the event on our Google Calendar or indicate that you’re going on our Facebook Event.

You can join us in the store or play online and check in via our Twitch.tv page.  We’ll be broadcasting several streamers including our own from the store, so join us for a great cause.

More details about the day itself will be available shortly.  If you’re interested in hosting a game or two and have some ideas on how to raise funds through various game mechanics all proceeds raised during that day will go to benefit the Childrens Hospital Network.

24 Hours of Gaming for Military Families – 4 Nov 2017

We’re gaming for the military families, for the kids who already have it rough with Mom or Dad (and sometimes both!) away from home serving their country.  We’ve touched several family’s lives providing gaming consoles, games and other cool stuff to let them know that we appreciate their sacrifice as part of the military community.

The resiliency of our Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, Airmen and Coast Guardsmen serving overseas starts and ends at home and to take care of their kids is to take care of them as well.  We game for our military families!

We’ll be livestreaming on our Twitch.tv channel as well as Facebook from time to time with updates on our progress and the battle against sleep.  You can join our team or donate by checking out our Extra-Life.org page.

Omin Dran has put out the call to adventures to help establish the Neverwinter Branch of Acquisitions Incorporated. Raise Up to $1,000, Possibly Even More For Your Store Team!

We have been approached with the offer to volunteer at two events to raise funds to spend however we wish and we’ve decided to open it up to you to help earn some extra cash for your favorite store team.

From the event organizers:

“The first event is Street Fest, and we are looking for a team of 10 volunteers to work Friday, June 23rd, and Saturday, June 24th from 4pm to 12am to assist in serving alcoholic and/or non-alcoholic beverages at different stations. If your team chooses to do so, you can set up shifts for multiple volunteers so the same 10 people aren’t having to work 8 hours straight.
If you decide to work the alcohol serving station, you will need a team of 10 members working at once for the entire time. You will be compensated with a $1,000.00 paycheck towards your organization or to split among your team as you see fit.
If you decide to work the non-alcoholic drink serving station, you will only need a team of 5 volunteers for the whole day, and will be given $750.00 towards your organization or to split among your team as you see fit.

All volunteers must be 18 years of age or older.

We are looking for as many as three teams, so if you’d like to work both stations, or have enough volunteers to work multiple stations at once, that is more than acceptable. Furthermore, any tips that you make during the event you can keep to do with as you see fit.

The Second event, taking place July 2nd, is the Ice Cream Festival. We are looking for any number of volunteers to work one or both shifts, being 12pm-4pm, or 4pm-8pm. If your team chooses to work the 4pm-8pm shift, each member will receive a $25 check for their time and efforts.

For both events,all volunteers will receive complimentary meals, drinks, entrance to said events, and a t-shirt (and other things) for their help.”

Please contact us via Facebook or in the store to let us know you want to volunteer so we can get you signed up.  We need to know ASAP.  Volunteer hours will be split proportionally among the teams, so for example, if Warhammer 40K provides 80% of the time, then 80% of the funds raised go to them.  Funds will be used for prize support, travel and entry fees.  These funds will be set aside and added on top of money already dedicated by MGS to support sponsored teams.

MGS Teams Up With KLAQ For a Night of D&D
